Wilderton Road
Branksome Park
November 2015 – October 2016
A wonderful large family garden divided into different zones to accommodate all ages.
A centrally positioned large swimming pool is surrounded by single size grey paving to tie-in with the colours used in the restored and updated home. Formal planting beds sit either side of the pool leaving plenty of room.
A large seating area catching the sun is directly outside the large bi-fold doors from the kitchen and dining area, which in turn leads up through the formal planting to the large lawn.
A built in BBQ sits outside the pool house.
A very large tiered border deals with the level change on the right hand side and is planted with a carefully chosen selection of trees, shrubs, grasses and large growing perennials to provide long seasons of interest.
A smaller seating area leads directly from the bi-fold doors from the lounge and dining room. A real suntrap, this area is perfect for summer lunches and is bordered by raised planters with a mix of sun loving perennials and Standard Bay trees.
The planting is Mediterranean in feel mixed with traditional English themes. A formal Yew hedge divides the more formal planting from the lawn which is bordered on 3 sides by a mix of small trees, shrubs and perennials to give year round colour and interest.
To the rear of the garden is the wildlife woodland, an area enhanced by mass planting of low growing perennials and spring bulbs. A thatched gazebo catches the last rays of the sun and is ideal for sundowners overlooking the garden.
